unofficial signature, for now

I found this stamp awhile ago so when my mom was visiting in November she bought it for me. It cracked me up. It will be on the back of most of my cards from now on until I figure out my own real "signature".

Red and Green...you know what that means.

So the first two have red and green in them. That makes them Christmas cards right? So INSIDE they say "Merry Christmas!"

And the last of them, it's hard to see in the picture but the card is actually this great wood textured paper that I found. Really sturdy and solid. So the writing on the card is supposed to be like a carving. It comes across much better in person. INSIDE it can say something like: "equals...(friends forever, sisters forever, lovers forever." OR "M.F.E.O Made For Each Other."

The first of some Holiday cards 2009!

Saturday Morn

INSIDE:

"you're in the shower right now,
BUT when you're out
i'm going to SHOWER you
with kisses"

Oh how I love thee, Saturday Morning. Whilst unemployed the week can tend to get a bit lonely. So when I wake up Saturday Morning and Graham is still next to me I can't help but smile. Unfortunately that means that I'm pretty clinging on Saturday Mornings. Hence this card, for him.

Crow Crow and...for The Beans

Crow Crow is an infamous crow that hang out on my parents back deck. I named him.

Our great family friends are George and Pat Bean. Me and my sister grew up visiting them on their ranch property in Cashmere Washington. I hadn't bean back for 13 years but when Graham and I were in Seattle we for my sisters wedding we were luckily able to visit the Beans. Just like old times, we shot guns, drank beer, had an amazing taco salad made with Doritos and lounged in the hot tub. I'm glad Graham got to experience it and as a thank you to them for hosting us, 3 months later, I've made them a card.

love mail...not hate mail.

This idea was for my dad. At work he's been getting a lot of hate mail from readers so I thought I would throw some "love mail" into the mix.

you are...you're not.

For the last few months I've been meaning to make the time to make a card for my sisters best friend. My sister got married in August and even though she didn't have a technical Maid of Honor Katie and I really shared the duties. She did one heck of a job and I've just been meaning to tell her how great she is and find out if she was still able to enjoy herself even though she was in charge of so much the day of. Today was the day. She is indeed "my favorite." Also sending one off to our friends in Boston who's wedding we missed over the summer and have yet to check in with. They are also very much our "favorites."

A little bird thing told me...

It's been a while since I sent my Grandma a letter. I shouldn't need an excuse but her landing in the hospital with a little bout of pneumonia gave me the kick in the pants that I needed. Maybe I'll send her something new once a week to make up for everything.

You are one of my nicest thoughts.

A friend of mine recently underwent some minor surgery. She didn't stick around the loud, dirty city to recuperate, but instead went home with her mother to their lovely get-a-way upstate. Since i haven't been able to see her yet she's been on my mind a lot lately. So i decided to make her a little card just to let her know how much i love her and that i've been thinking about her.

I used one of my new favorite quotes that i stole from another card. "You are one of my nicest thoughts". I had a stack of these great little 3 1/2 inch square envelopes which was sort of the inspiration. Covered some chip board with colorful paper and a button to top it off. While i was at it i made one for my parents and my sister and her new husband, who are also always on my mind.

Can't wait for them to enjoy the home made snail mail!
